John's first custom rifle

John Powers First Custom FIrearms He Made

The gun that started it all back in 1981 John created this rifle. 

He made the action, the trigger guard, bolt and chamber. The barrel is a Hart barrel in 6 x47mm.

Built on a McMillian stock with a Hart 2.0 oz  trigger.

Full custom made, Flat Top, Adjustable Front and Rear sights.

Modified Backstrap, Modified Hammer.

Made Keith no.5 Basepin, Keith  Locking Base Pin Latch assembly.

Persinger carved Ivory Grips. Finished in Charcoal Blueing, Bone and Wood case Hardening. Nitred accents.

  • Started out as old model single six, converted from rimfire to centerfire.
  • Made 2-piece grip frame, one piece ivory, colt style topstrap, BP basepin retainer, 3” barrel, made cylinders with BP Bevels, finished in bone and wood case hardening, charcoal bluing and nitred parts.

Ruger Blackhawk. Converted to 360 Dan Wesson.

  • Made the banded barrel, cylinder, Keith number 5 latch system, front sight, Turkish Walnut grips fitted on a Ronnie Wells brass backstrap/trigger guard.
  • Made a bolt block, extra long Ejector Rod Housing, and Keith number 5 base pin. Fitted a Power Custom Bisley Hammer. Finished in DLC,
