Powers Metal Works, LLC is owned and operated full-time by John L. Powers, a gunsmith with over 41 years of experience in firearm restoration, refinishing, and precision gunsmithing. Located in Duson, Louisiana, just outside Lafayette, the shop specializes in manufacturing ultra-precision long-range hunting rifles and providing expert firearm services backed by decades of hands-on craftsmanship.

John is the holder of a Class 7 Federal Firearms License (FFL) for firearm manufacturing and has served as a warranted gunsmith for Browning, Remington, and Winchester. His experience includes firearm repairs, restoration, trigger and action work, custom builds, barrel chambering, action blueprinting, barrel threading for adapters and muzzle brakes, recoil pad installation, and TIG welding.

Powers Metal Works also offers professional metal finishing services including rust, hot, charcoal, fire, and Belgium bluing, parkerizing, Cerakote finishes, and traditional bone and wood charcoal case hardening. Every service is performed by hand and in-house, ensuring the highest level of quality and attention to detail.
